Like other rubbers, high temperature vulcanizing silicone rubber (HTV) can be processed into various shapes products, e.g. hoses, rubber strips, rubber rollers, and rubber cloth. However, the biocompatibility of silicone rubber is a critical key feature of replacing rubber. Silicone rubber is one of the important silicone polymer products. Among all kind of rubbers, silicone rubber has the widest operating temperature range (-100°C ~ 350°C) and excellent resistance to high and low temperatures.
Depending on different properties, it can be divided into more than 10 varieties, such as general purpose, high-tear strength, high and low temperature resistance, low compression set, electrical wire and cable, solvent and oil resistance, flame retardancy, electrical conductivity, and steam resistance.
